Hi, my name is Paul.
I first picked up the guitar when I was 12 years old. I was a kid with a red Squier and a dream of playing like Green Day, Metallica, and a local band called ‘de Heideroosjes.’
I quickly fell in love with the guitar and went on to study music with a minor in teaching at Rotterdam Conservatory.
I then split my time between playing live shows and coaching students privately – and over 10 years, worked with hundreds of students and a lot of beginners.
It was around this time that I launched my YouTube channel, and started connecting with thousands of guitarists all over the world.

Q. What level of playing is required for this course, and how do I know if it’s right for me?
Acoustic Adventure is designed for intermediate-level guitarists. To get the most out of this course, you should be comfortable playing the most commonly seen chords, and have some familiarity with barre chords.
If you’ve been through my course Learn, Practice, Play and you’re excited to learn, I really think you’ll have a blast. And if you If you feel confident with more complex material then you’ll be very well prepared to go on your Acoustic Adventure.
If you don’t yet feel confident with common chords or barre chords, I’d suggest starting with my step-by-step course Learn, Practice, Play first to build your foundational skills.

Q. I’m not a big fan of learning theory, scales or exercises. Is this course for me?
Unlike my step-by-step courses Learn, Practice, Play and Next Level Playing, this course is not a systematic study of all aspects of guitar knowledge, level by level.
Rather, it is an open-ended opportunity for you to explore a wide variety of techniques and styles. So, while you will encounter some theory and scales in passing, these will not be the main point of any lesson. Instead, you’ll hear me mention theory and scale concepts in the context of showing you how to play a piece.

I designed the course to help you develop your technique and understanding across a wide range of genres. So you’ll learn by playing blues, folk, bluegrass, rock, country and pop.
