Why Aspiring Guitarists Struggle to Make Progress
At first, learning the guitar is so much fun.
You’re full of excitement and motivation – dreaming of playing your favorite songs, jamming for family and friends, and maybe even writing your own music.
Sure, the guitar doesn’t feel quite right in your hands, your fingers are hurting, and changing chords still takes a lot of time, but none of that matters.
Every day you’re excited to pick up the guitar and put the practice in. You block out an hour or two to watch videos, search out chord charts, and maybe even try to play along with your favorite songs.
You even begin to think – “ Hey, at this rate I’m going to be a pro at this in no time!”
But then, things start to slow down.
Months later and your repertoire has barely expanded. Switching between chords still takes too long, you’re struggling with music theory, and well – maybe it’s better if we don’t talk about that F chord…
You start to feel demotivated, but go out in search of more information to help you get better. So you buy books, search YouTube for lessons and download a list of songs to learn.
But instead of making progress, you just start to feel overwhelmed.
Instead of getting better, you spend your time jumping between random and disconnected ideas, not making any progress and wasting your precious practice time in the process.
Motivation starts to slip, and before you know it your commitment to practice guitar with total devotion has become a “maaaaybe a couple times a week, if I can find the time” type of commitment.
Then all of a sudden you realize it’s been months since you even touched the guitar, and it’s sitting neglected in the corner, gathering dust.
Ouch…

It doesn’t have to be like this.
You can make amazing and consistent progress as a beginner, with as little as 15 minutes of practice a day. You simply need a practice roadmap, so that you know exactly what to play, every time you sit down with the guitar.
And that’s why I created Learn, Practice, Play.
Introducing:
Learn, Practice, Play

A system that gives you a clear, step-by-step roadmap for exactly what you need to practice and when:
No more strumming the same handful of chords, getting tied up in theory or wasting time jumping between random lessons and snippets of songs.
In just a matter of weeks you’ll develop a solid understanding of some of the fundamentals of guitar, like fretting, strumming, fingerpicking, chords and scales.
Then you’ll dive into some of the most exciting and rewarding parts of playing the guitar – developing a solid groove, playing licks and riffs and putting it all together into improvisations.

There’s no dry theory or exercises here – every concept is taught through beautiful pieces that you’ll love playing and sharing with friends and family.

Testimonials
What Students Are Saying

“This is the best step-by-step online guitar course! I was trying to get better at guitar for a while but this is the first time I actually feel I’m better, quicker, and more precise. I’m able to recognize the different keys and play more chords. With the daily exercise sessions, I was not only able to progress in the different techniques but also to start differentiating my left hand from the right one. My left hand started to move unconsciously and the sounds I played together were so cool! I really experienced something new and that’s what motivates me to continue practicing every day.”

“The best thing about this course is that it gives you all the tools to eventually figure everything out on your own. I was an intermediate guitar player before this course. I could play along to my favorite songs and learn some solos note-by-note but there was something missing. I didn’t understand what I was playing but with this course I was able to fill in those blanks. Additionally, I finally learned the ever-so-daunting fingerpicking. I now feel so much more connected with my guitar. ”

Thomas Alberding
Learn, Practice, Play Student

“In the small window since I paid for the course I’ve drastically improved – especially when it comes to improvisation of scales. Thanks to the course my guitar skills and technique have improved massively and I don’t know how to repay Paul besides share my gratitude. My biggest success was definitely being able to write my own tabs for a song I’d written – this was something I feel like I could never have achieved without the course.”

Meet Your Instructor
Hi, my name is Paul.
I first picked up the guitar when I was 12 years old. I was a kid with a red Squier and a dream of playing like Green Day, Metallica, and a local band called ‘de Heideroosjes.’
I quickly fell in love with the guitar and went on to study music with a minor in teaching at Rotterdam Conservatory.
I then split my time between playing live shows and coaching students privately – and over 10 years, worked with hundreds of students and a lot of beginners.
It was around this time that I launched my YouTube channel, and started connecting with thousands of guitarists all over the world.
And I began to realize that the learning experience for so many beginners was the same.
They would start out full of enthusiasm and excitement to achieve their guitar playing dreams. And they’d make great progress in the beginning – even if their fingers hurt and everything felt awkward.
After a while though – when they’d learned their first chords and maybe a song or two – progress would begin to slow down.
They started to feel lost, demotivated and unsure of what they even needed to practice to keep making progress.
So they ended up repeating the same handful of chords and snippets of songs, and eventually began to lose the desire to play.

You can make amazing and consistent progress as a beginner, with as little as 15 minutes of practice a day. You simply need a practice roadmap, so that you know exactly what to play, every time you sit down with the guitar.
And that’s why I created Learn, Practice, Play.
Over 36,000 guitarists have gone through the course and transformed their guitar playing in the process.
If you want to make the same fast and consistent progress and set yourself up for a lifetime of creative expression, joy, and fulfillment playing guitar I’d love for you to join them.
Cheers
Paul
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I’m a total beginner. Will Learn, Practice, Play work for me?
Absolutely. In fact, I designed Learn, Practice, Play with beginner guitarists in mind. Even if you’ve never picked up a guitar before, you won’t feel lost or overwhelmed.
That’s why we start with the core fundamentals, like fretting, strumming, and basic chords, before moving onto more intermediate topics. All of the key concepts are explained in easy-to-understand detail, so the lessons are simple to grasp and put into practice.
Q. I’ve been playing guitar for a while, is this too basic?
Something I’ve learned after 20+ years of playing guitar is that if you want to get really good at guitar, mastering the fundamentals is absolutely key.
If you have any gaps in your knowledge, especially around things like music theory, keys, intervals, time signatures, or the use of scales – you won’t go as far as you could have with the right training.
Learn, Practice, Play covers all of the fundamentals, and will round out any potential gaps in your knowledge for good. Going through it, you can be certain in your rock-solid foundation.
Additionally, I’ve included a number of “advanced exercises” – optional tracks for those who like a challenge.
This is a beginner’s course, so if you feel like you have that foundation and are comfortable playing barre chords, scales and music theory, fingerpicking, fretting, strumming, improvisation, riffs, licks, and solos, chances are the course is not the right fit for you.
But if you might benefit from a solid “tune-up,” and would like to make sure you’ve really got things covered from the ground up, you’re going to get huge value from the course.
For more information, you can watch my video where I discuss how to know which of my courses is right for you.If you’re still not sure what “level” you’re at, that’s OK; feel free to join the course and get started on it, and if it isn’t a good fit, you can get a refund within the first 14 days (or exchange it for my intermediate course, Next Level Playing, within the same time period).
Q. Is this course for acoustic or electric guitar?
Both! I teach the course on the acoustic guitar, but all of the songs, licks and riffs can be played on either the acoustic or the electric guitar.
The fundamental concepts and techniques that we cover in the course will help you build a strong foundation, which you can then apply to a variety of musical styles in the future.
Q. What’s the difference between Learn, Practice, Play and your YouTube videos?
Learn, Practice, Play is much more detailed and comprehensive. In total the course contains more than 5 ½ hours of video content… which means we get to go super deep into the material and cover the small but important details I can’t always squeeze into my YouTube recordings.
In the videos, I first explain the lesson, then play the chord, progression, or melody for you, so you can hear what it sounds like and see the correct finger positioning. Then you try playing it yourself with an optional backing track.
The lessons are progressive, so each module builds on the last. The course is structured so you’ll never feel stuck or lost and won’t ever wonder what you need to work on next.
Q. Do I need to be available at certain times to participate? What if my schedule gets busy?
Learn, Practice, Play is a self-paced online course, so you can go through the lessons at any time that is convenient for you. And because you get lifetime access when you join, you don’t need to worry about your schedule getting busy.
If something does come up in your schedule that prevents you from starting right away or slows down your progress, the course will always be available for you to pick up again whenever you can come back to it.
Q. Who is Learn Practice Play not for?
If you’re proficient at playing barre chords, know your scales backwards and forwards, have extensive practice fingerpicking, and are knowledgeable about music theory, this course will be too basic for you.
If that sounds like you, I invite you to check out my intermediate course, Next Level Playing.
Q. How long before I start seeing awesome results with Learn, Practice, Play?
If you’re following the lessons and practicing at least 15 minutes each day, you’re going to see progress very quickly – most likely by the end of the first module. And if you commit to completing all 7 modules, I guarantee you’re going to make significant advancements in both technical skill and ability to understand the music you’re playing.
Q. How long do I have access to the course?
When you join Learn, Practice, Play, you get lifetime access to all modules and course materials. So you can work through the course at the pace that works best for you and fits around your life and other commitments.
Q. What if I don’t like the course?
There is a 14-day money back guarantee. So you can try the course out and see if it’s right for you. If you don’t love it, just send my team an email (team@learnpracticeplay.com). They’ll give you a full refund, no questions asked.
